    The most important and realistic strategy to me that the video talks about is the one where you try and give meaningful, personal, and positive reinforcement to your employees. This seems like it is the easiest way to motivate them by just showing you care about them as a human and not just someone who affects the numbers of the company.

    This entire lecture really opened my eyes. This was very interesting and informative, I loved every minute and really loved how you described the key differences between each generation. I felt like I was a book being read out loud each time you mentioned key personality traits that my generation has. The social/life/work balance to even the social media/social aspect millennials do every day to feel a sort of belonging but also that connection to others that are important in our life. I’m on the borderline of millennials/gen Z but I’ve always felt like seeking that information and always trying new things to see where they lead and committing to the end goals. Loved how you mentioned the individuality aspect because I think it applies most to the ones who are on that birth year borderline. This was truly one of the best lectures I’ve ever experienced, thank you for your great work and I can’t wait to see what next week’s lecture will be about!

      I'm on the cusp like you: Boomer and Gen X. I identify much, much more with Gen X, but I see where Boomers are coming from. That's really the goal: for everyone to develop and understanding of the other.

      @@NutshellBrainery So how to make them think and care Lon?

    • @NutshellBrainery
      @NutshellBrainery 9 днів тому

      Try to connect the objective of the project to a personal objective they care about. If it's a school project and they don't care, maybe they care about their grade and graduating. If it's a work project, maybe they care about the exposure this project will have on their careers. Point is, we generally care about our own goals more than others' goals, so make them one in the same.

    The part that made me go "HUH?" the most was definitely how Demographics was the back door for Psychographics! I love marketing, so this subject was very appealing to me because I love learning about why people do and choose what they do but from a competitive business perspective. I like to study habits and watch the trends that people choose over others for specific reasons and sometimes just to try something new! This subject has always been fascinating because its "hard to measure" like you said. In our current day and age, influencing the public has become stronger than ever since the internet and social media has given these "influencers" a platform with a bigger audience and way to connect to them in an easier way to get their message out. We have all sorts of sources of information online now that we can find out some of the most basic things about anyone with a social media account, which can sometimes be the base to start at to assume things in a good way of stereotyping but we don't want to assume we know everything about them based on just their profile online, we can use this to start our conversation but we do not want this to control the conversation. We must stay open minded and never conclude to that "final judgement" until we have all the psychographics first. I loved learning about this segment this the most and I cant wait to see whats next!

    I'm an AI researcher, and I'm very worried about what AI is doing to our classrooms. Glad that I didn't have these tools growing up, though they do provide wonderful capabilities at work for me day-to-day. I've been trying to think through how to better catch these tools without relying on detecting AI generated text (since as others have pointed out, you can have it be generated in your style), as a side project: ua-cam.com/video/hknVhyStlfk/v-deo.html Not sure how to make it useful to existing professors and teachers though... I just want to help!

    • @NutshellBrainery
      @NutshellBrainery 16 днів тому

      My thinking on AI has evolved a great deal since I first made this video. I actually encourage my students to use AI...but in very specific ways. Then, when they do use AI I require them to submit a Statement of Use explaining how they used the tool. I have always done my best to avoid the arms race of student cheating/professor catching. I'd rather apply my energies to teaching students who want to learn than catching students who don't. In the end they're only hurting themselves. I'm with you: glad I didn't have these tools as a student!

    Aren't the vast majority of comic book superheroes wish fulfillment characters!? I would argue that a character like Spider-Man is less so than...say...Superman. Even so, Spider-Man is not NOT a wish fulfillment character.

    • @NutshellBrainery
      @NutshellBrainery 18 днів тому

      Completely agree. And even Spider-Man is so for kids (the original idea for his that is, a kid struggling school and bullies). The difference I see that's worth calling out is that, with Batman, there's no radioactive spider or other external force to make him powerful. It's all internal.

    • @AshtonRogers-se1zj
      @AshtonRogers-se1zj 18 днів тому

      @@NutshellBrainery to be honest,I didn't do a very good job clarifying myself,because Spider-Man is actually my favorite comic book superhero. I just REALLY identify with Peter Parker and his money problems, noble intentions,and absolute train wreck of a personal life. That's why I think of him as being less about wish fulfillment for the reader than most of the other main characters in the medium of comics. Because who would ever want Peter's life!? Plus,Spider-Man has the second best rogue's gallery in all of comics. I'm sure that I don't have to mention which character holds the #1 spot on that list.

    • @NutshellBrainery
      @NutshellBrainery 16 днів тому

      @@AshtonRogers-se1zj I like how strongly you identify with Peter Parker. You probably know the story, but when Stan Lee, with Jack Kirby as the artist, came up with the idea of Pater Parker, he wanted someone with whom kids could relate, someone who was going through the same struggles as they were. The publisher said it was a lousy idea and that kids wanted to look up to flawless adults, but history proved them wrong!

    i'm confused that when you are setting the team charter session people within the team join that session without care anything, they just follow each other or keep silent. Or no one speaks. What should we do? And when we use the team charter after defined?

    • @NutshellBrainery
      @NutshellBrainery 23 дні тому

      Everyone need to contribute in order to complete the team charter. Of course you can't force anyone to contribute or commit, but then that just helps bring in Storming, which you can then convert into Norming. Once you have the team charter you refer to it regularly, in every meeting, and use it as a North Star when making decisions.

    If Batman’s had a superpower it would be superintelligence. With all the things he has developed from Contingency plans to cures, to vaccines to supercomputers to specialized armored suits to AI systems to anything else. That and super willpower are the only answers to this question. Born a natural-born prodigy amongst William James Sidis level prodigies intellectually he devoted himself to being the Paragon of Vigilantes and Jack of all trades but taking it to the highest degree.

    Great video. I really enjoy these kinds of discussions of the industry. On subject of new characters, I saw UA-camrs recommending that we all pick up copies of Extreme Venomverse titles because of the huge numbers of first appearances of characters like baseball venom and shark venom. I wonder how much they’ll be worth in a few years…?

    What I found most interesting was how the audience decides the channel, I've always thought that the creators themselves chose the channel for their audience but now I'm starting to see the communication lifecycle more clearly in a different way than before. The best example was when you mentioned how the person who asked a personal question on your facebook post in the comment section instead of sending a direct message. So my question is, what was their purpose of communication when they created Batman? Was it to entertain, was it trying to convey encouragement and hope for young kids, perhaps even threaten and frighten criminals by showing them the bad consequences that come with villainous acts, which could also come across as a covert purpose? I personally always saw Batman as a character that sets out to educate and inform that no matter what happens "the good guys always win".
